part 2

This time we took the plane to come to the zoo. We went to Skansen in Stockholm. This is both a zoo and an open air museum.

This picture is the ARRIVAL home in Umeå. I felt so happy to come home after the wonderful trip to Skansen.

Here i'm is on the boat in Stockholm on the way to Skansen. Ove took the picture. You only see Ove's coat on the bench :)
Skansen is not only a zoo. It's an open air museum that has a zoo in the same area and also an aquarium. Skansen is a gorgeous place. And my favourite place in Stockholm. You can walk a lot there.
First we went to the Skansen Aquarium.

These animals are Ring tailed lemurs. (Lemur catta)

Lemurs.
You may go in into the lemur area and walk around there. They are harmless and are not afraid for people. But you may not go an touch them or pet them. Here they all were sitting in a kind of heap.
They like to be tight into each other.
Is not this one sweet.
A monkey eating fruit. Skansen Aquarium.
Monkeys. Skansen Aquarium.

A sloth.
These are bats that bite and take blood. But they are not dangerous now, because it's daylight and they only sleep.
A turtle.
A crocodile.

The Skansen aquarium has many animals, all kind of fish, rats, ground squirrels, birds, frogs, snakes and spiders. It's difficult to take pictures because most enclosures are rather dark.

After being at the aquarium, we went to the Skansen open air museum. Then we saw Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis), everywhere on the area. I went so happy. These are you relative to "my" Barnacle goose in Umeå.

They also hade mallards at Skansen. Here a male mallard.

There are many small ponds at Skansen.

Another bear went curious and was wondering what the other bear was looking for.
The other bear also started looking.
Then both came in a quarrel!

The winner took it all.
The looser had to go.

Wonderful flowers.
The kitchen garden.
Reindeer. They are loosing their winter coat.
There was also a farm with cows, horses and sheep. Here you could se how they had the hay on the haystack in former times.

Big Dala horses.
The church at Skansen. Ove on the picture.
At the end of the day there were not so many people. Then I made a ride through the park by the Skansen train.
Ram.
A little house sparrow eating bread.
Skansen has a big area and I felt tired. Had to rest a while. I found a bench in a beautiful garden. I saw all these flowers. Ove was not with me that time. Sometimes Ove and I walk alone to a place at Skansen. And that’s why you only can see my jacket on the bench.
I enjoyed this park from the bench.
Another view of the flower park. I was in paradise.
