Easter

Easter, but still winter

Easter in town and in our street

2018. Me in town by the Easter birch. We still have snow on the ground. But in the some streets in the centre of town is bare ground because there are heaters under the ground.
2018-03-22. The town had put big cardboard egg in a birch. We have these egg in different size. You can have candies in them. But in this tree they are used for decorations. Without candies.
2018-03-22. This birch was put up on the Rådhus square.
2018.03-22. On the other side of the tree is the store Utopia.
2018-03-22. Behind the tree is a pizza restaurant but you also can have coffee and cake there. The name of the restaurant it "Torget" means "The Square".

2018-03-22. Easter is the coming of spring. But here we still have snow. This year we got a lot of snow and it did not melt because it we still had frost.

2018-03-26. They put up deck chairs by the snow labyrinth. That day we had -16° Celsius (3 F). Nobody wanted to sit there.
2018-04-26. It looks like a beach with these chairs. But they are standing in the snow!
2018-03-29. Somebody gave the sculpture "The Standing Man" a hat.

2018-03-29. The front side of the old town hall. In summer there is grass in front of the building. But now there snow.
2018-03-29. The old hotel and the culture house in the background. There are no heaters under the ground on the other side of this street and not in the park neither.
2018-03-29. There is a restaurant in the old town hall. Somebody had taken a cup of coffee and not taken the cup back inside. A man who worked in the restaurant was coming out and I told him out the cup. When he should take the cup, it was frozen and it was stuck on the stone wall. The man and I started laughing. He could not take in the cup.
2018-04-03. There was still ice on the river and people could walk on the ice. The last years the ice was already broken. But this winter is long and harsh.
2018-04-02. We had thaw after the frost again. Then the park was icy and very slippery. I could not go there. The spike shoes could not stick in the hard ice.
2018-04-04. It was snowing a lot in March and the beginning of April. Ove in the heavy snow by the trash house. I took the picture from the balcony.

Easter in our home

I took pictures of Swedish Easter decoration we have in our home.
Egg made of cardboard. You can fill these with Easter candies or chocolate.
There are nice Easter picture on the egg.
The daughter of a neighbour made this card to us when she was little.
Another year the same girl made this rooster.
We got this Easter card with advertising many years ago.
A neighbour painted these egg to us.

Magnets for the fridge.
You can hang these chick in Easter twigs. Easter twigs are birch twigs.
You can place these chicks in the house or have them in the house plants

This chick is very special for me. It belongs to Lennart. He always wanted to have it in his room.
Lennart made this of plastic pearls.
Small chicks.
Very old Easter hare. They are from my childhood. Later I took them with me to our home.
More small chicks. Some of them became little flat because Lennart was holding them when he was very little. :-)

The egg at the left is a candle light. But I will not burn it. I saved it as a decoration. At the right a cardboard egg. We got it from a neighbour.
I got these chicks when I was a little girl.
I forgot to take a picture of my 4 plastic hare. I found an old picture I put in here.
2018-03-31. We had a salmon and shrimp pastry.
2018-03-31. The full moon was going up.

2018-04-01. Our old knife was broken and we bought this new knife. I cut potatoes in bits an fried them in the frying pan.
2018-04-01. Our dinner. We had loin of pork, fried potatoes, green asparagus, and grated carrots. In the middle a cheese sauce.

2018-04-02. In Holland we use to eat fried chicken at Easter. I took that tradition to my own home. But this year I made a pan with chicken in creamy pasta. I used gluten free pasta.
2018-04-02. I warmed corn to the chicken dish.

Tulips for Easter

2018-03-31. I got these tulips from Ove. I was so happy to get some spring colours in our home.

Outside it's still winter.

I'm dreaming about the spring.

Some day I will walk in my green jacket again and enjoy the greenness and the beautiful flowers. This picture was taken in Germany in the year 2012.
