Trip to Lycksele
part B

In the hotel

2013-10-05. Me by the Ume River in front of the hotel.
2013-10-05. We got a big room. They had this room and they told we could get it for the same price as we ordered for a common room. they call the room for "svit" in Swedish, I think you can use the word suite for this in English.
2013-10-05. There were two sofas and a table. You could sit here and watch TV.
2013-10-05. The desk. The door of the bathroom was open on this picture. I liked that wooden door.
2013-10-05. The shower. The door beside the shower goes to the sauna.
2013-10-05. Inside the sauna. But I got no picture of the heating that's on the left of the picture.

2013-10-05. This artificial frog was in an aquarium. There were no living animals or fishes in it. It was only a kind of art in water.

The dinner

2013-10-05. Me at dinner in the hotel.
2013-10-05. You could buy different glasses of wine to the different dishes. We don't like wine so much. And it was very expensive to buy wine. We drank beer and water to the food. Then they took away the wine glasses.

This hotel and restaurant visit was a "package" It included, hotel room breakfast, a 7 course dinner and dancing. But you had to pay extra for beer or wine.

2013-10-05. This cook is making gourmet food. That's so special and you hardly can make it yourself because he use so many ingredients. and he makes artwork of the dishes.

We all who had dinner got this book.

2013-10-05. But the loudspeakers were turned at the wrong direction, so we could not hear it. We all had to wait between the 7 courses. Then it was nice with music while waiting.
 

We did not get so much of everything for every course. Otherwise we should be full and can't eat all the dishes. They call it for a tasting or sampling dinner.

We were placed on the table with two other people. (a couple) And they were so nice. It was fun to talk with them.

It's too difficult to translate the details of the food. But I will try to tell with some simple words what's on the plate.

2013-10-05. The first course.
A dish with a fish named char.
2013-10-05.  The second course.
Wild meat, that can be reindeer, moose or deer with lingon berries.
2013-10-05. The third course.
A dish with a fish named walleye, The checked thing is made  of deep fried potatoes.

We had a lot of fun about this dish because I was joking and called the deep fried potatoes for a "fence" :-)

2013-10-05. The fourth course.
A dish with moose meat with mashed potatoes and parsnip. One mushroom and small 2 tomatoes
2013-10-05. The fifth course.
A cheese dish with ruby port sauce.
2013-10-05. The sixth course.
Different cookies filled with cloudberry sylt.
2013-10-05. The seventh course.
Coffee with chocolate truffle. 3 to me and 3 to Ove. They had thess on the same plate.
2013-10-05. Dancing after the dinner. The name of the band is Jive.

Breakfast at the hotel
2013-10-06. We had a good breakfast the next morning
2013-10-06. My breakfast. We use to have coffee to breakfast.
2013-10-06. We could see the river from the breakfast restaurant.
2013-10-06. It was gorgeous to see the smooth river and everything reflecting in the water.

2013-10-06. Now it started blowing. I got my pictures of the smooth water just in time.

The bus trip home

2013-10-06. We walked from the hotel to the bus stop
2013-10-06. Now it was windy and the river was not smooth anymore. But the sun started to shine
2013-10-06. It was beautiful with the sunlight on the yellow trees.

2013-10-06. I was surprised to see blue bells in the grass near the road at this time of the year. But this was a warm place in shelter.
