Vindelälven
The Vindel River

I was a member of an association named "Spara Vindelälven" = Safe the Vindel River. We did not want they should build water power here. Because this river was so special.
2015-07-01. There are rapids in the river.
2015-07-01. This river is wild and also protected. There are no water power stations in it.
2015-07-01. There is a watermill in the river. But it's not used anymore. Now it's a museum and an attraction for tourists.

2015-07-01. There is fish in the river: Sik = lavaret, öring = trout, lax = salmon, harr = grayling and siklöja = vendace

2015-07-01. This is a path for walking, biking and cars. But there are also small paths by the river only for walking. Somebody is walking there. Who is it?
It's me walking on the path by the river. I have loved this river  in many years.

2015-07-01.  After all these years I could return to the Vindel River that I love so much.

2015-07-01. In late summer when the rapid is not so wild you can do rafting.

Ove and I did this, but NOT ourselves. Some practised men were paddling. We only needed to hold us on the side of the boat. Then we got a rain suit. And we had our boots. Because you will be wet in the boat. We could lock our backpack, clothes and camera in a locked cabinet. The camera should be wet and be destroyed if we had taken it with us. So I have no pictures of this.

2015-07-01. There was a house tehr we could look at all kind of things tha has to do with nature.  Here a picture of stuffed birds. But I had no time to look at everythin in the short time we could be there.
