Midsummer Eve
2016-06-24

Here I'm standing by the may pole. This picture was taken 2016-06-26. At Midsummer Eve there were too many people and hard to take a picture by the may pole.
Me petting the horse Helge at Midsummer Eve.
Me petting the horse Ullika at Midsummer Eve.
The owner of Ullika also has a horse named Dansa. Winter 2014 he also had Dansa with him. Here I'm on a picture with Dansa in the snow.

It was very cold and windy that day. But I did not freeze in my red Arctic jacket. And the horse had shaggy fur and did not freeze neihter.

Two man who are comic actors wrote a book named: "Till häst genom  Västerbotten" Means "On a horse through Västerbotten". The horses Ullika and Dansa are in this book. The men were riding on them. Of course I bought this book :-)

I had a ride with the horse Helge in the carriage. I could easy step in this carriage because it was lower.
Me in the carriage pulled by the horse Helge.
I took pictures from the carriage.
First we were riding at Gammlia.
After that Helge was riding in into the woods.
It was so much fun to ride in the woods instead of walking in the woods.
I enjoyed the greenness so much.
The dancing pavilion in the distance.
On the way back to Gammlia.
This is the horse Ullika.
Ove took pictures of me.
The horse Ullika. But this carriage was too high for me because of my back surgery.
The horse Ullika and the horse Helge in the background.
Helge got a break and could rest and drink some water.
Helge and his mom.

Now Helge is in front of the carriage again

We had pickled herring and potatoes for midsummer. This food is a Swedish tradition at Midsummer
After lunch I was a while on the yard and met the dog Clarabelle.
We had vanilla ice cream, strawberries and cream in the afternoon. Also this is a Swedish tradition.
The flag was flying on the balcony at Midsummer.

Midsummer Day
2016-06-25

It was raining this day. Fortunately there were no events this day. I was the only visitor who dare to go out in the rain.
But I have a good orange rain jacket.
The sheep in the rain.
The May pole in the rain.
I took the pictures of the May pole from the window of the bakery.
I bought tunnbröd (thin flat unleavened bread) in the bakery.
A view over the open air museum  in the rain from another window in the bakery.
They are baking the bread on a stone slab and use firewood to warm the oven.

To my surprise my friend and her husband were working in the bakery at Gammlia. They had their horse named Kung Bore ( King Bore) with them.
My friend was taking out the horse from the pasture.
She prepared King Bore for pulling the carriage.
Ready.
My Friend, the horse and my friend's husband. He was working in the bakery today.
A happy mom and happy  horse.
They put him in front of the carriage.
My friends take Kung Bore on the first ride. They had to check out that everything was all right.

The next day the rain was pouring down again. Rain in the pond.
They were taking down the May pole in the pouring rain. Midsummer was over.
"POOOOFF !"The May pole was falling down on the ground.

It was raining the whole day.
But I kept warm and dry in my nice jacket :-)
